Eagle Valley Community Support Society Launches Fundraiser

SICAMOUS (July 10th, 2024) – Eagle Valley Community Support Society (EVCSS) is launching a fundraiser to help ensure the sustainability and growth of their community-strengthening programs with a little help from SASCU Credit Union.

SASCU has committed to matching donations dollar-to-dollar to a maximum of $16,000. The community organization is hoping the area they have supported for the past thirty years will get excited and support this initiative.

EVCSS has been a vital part of the Sicamous and CSRD Area E since its inception in 1992. The service group has grown to be a central hub, ensuring the community has access to food security, resources for families, and is known by seniors throughout the region for its Better at Home program.

“SASCU has been a true community partner since the beginning of Eagle Valley Community Support Society,” said Janet McClean Senft, Executive Director of EVCSS.

“We are honoured by the value they have placed on the work that we have done and thrilled to have this wonderful opportunity to make a significant impact on the ever growing costs of providing needed services. The saying “it takes a village" couldn't be more apt,” added McClean Senft, “as every donation will make a difference.”

McClean Senft promises many fun activities to engage the community in this matching funds campaign.

Look for their Matching Funds Campaign Booth at many local events and check out their Facebook page for more information about the ways to donate and for upcoming activities.

“EVCSS provides important services and programs to the Sicamous community, providing resources and support to the area’s most vulnerable,” said Curtis Slingerland, Chair of the Community Relations and Sponsorship Committee of the SASCU Board. “We support EVCSS with this creative initiative to obtain sustainability and growth of the organization’s ability to serve this growing community for at least another thirty years.”
