Sicamous Credit Union Renovations Near Completion

SALMON ARM (November 26, 2024) — SASCU Credit Union prepares to open its renovated branch in Sicamous. Excitement among members and staff is growing as Tuesday, December 17 approaches.

This past spring, the credit union services moved into a smaller temporary space as the construction got under way.

“This was a floor-to-ceiling renovation,” said Branch Manager Eldon Kralkay. “I’ve watched the progress and know our community will love the results. It’s built to ensure Sicamous and area are well served with their diverse financial needs well into the future.”

A completely new design supported with proven technologies will provide a modern banking experience with familiar faces. New features include a community room for non-profit bookings and an education centre where members can gain hands-on learning to improve their financial confidence and well-being. Children will enjoy the new SASCU Kids’ Quarters while their parents will welcome the comfort of their favourite coffee beverage.

“It’s a great investment into the Sicamous’ community and a great setting for people to design their own financial futures,” said SASCU CEO & President Barry Delaney. “People feel inspired and uplifted as soon as they enter, and will leave with confidence to turn their renewed sense of hope into action.”

To accommodate the transition into the renovated space, Sicamous Branch will close early at 1 p.m., Friday, December 13 and remain closed Saturday, December 14. The branch will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 17.

“We appreciate the members’ and staff’s patience and flexibility as we worked through this renovation,” added Delaney. “I am confident they will see it was worth the wait.”

Grand opening details will be shared in the new year.
